Frequently Asked Questions
What size are your cakes and how many will they serve?
Please take a look at the cake size and servings page for an approximate guide based on a 1.5in x 2in slice
How do I cut a tall cake?
There are many cutting guides available, but generally to get the most number of slices you should cut the cake in squares or rectangles (imagine a grid pattern on the top of the cake).
FBC 3-layer and 4-layer cakes can then also be cut in half again across the middle
How should I store my cake?
In the fridge unless otherwise informed by FBC. Take out of the fridge 1.5 – 2 hours before you want to consume and allow to come to room temperature to enjoy the silky smoothness of the buttercream and the cake at its best.
Put back in the fridge if it’s not all eaten straightaway and within 4 hours of being out at room temperature. FBC cakes are best eaten within 3 days of collection
How should I transport my cake?
The footwell or boot of your car are the best places and take it easy round bends and corners!
Do you make vegan or gluten free cakes?
I do not currently offer these types of cakes.
How far in advance should I order?
As much time as you can, but ideally 3-4 weeks in advance.
FBC cakes contain gluten, eggs, dairy.
FBC cakes are made in an environment where nuts, peanuts, eggs, milk, soya, sesame and gluten are used.
For this reason I cannot guarantee they are free from traces of these allergens.
Each cake has it's own allergy warning. If you have a specific request please use the contact form
